The lovely dark red-pink flowers of this plant prompted Marcelle Sheppard to remark that it is the closest to true-red Crinum that she knows about.  It was created by Barry Clark and named in honor of his mother.  It is reported to be hardy to 5 F (-15 C) in a well-drained and suitably protected situation.

Crinum x 'Lorraine Clark' is one of the most famous hybrids because, to date the Crinum with the most red-like flowers. In truth, the color is halfway between the unopened buds and the opened flowers, but with a bit less magenta.
