Les Hannibal's Surprise

Mr. Hannibal Pink Seedling
Mr. Hannibal Pink Seedling

Marcelle does not know the exact parentage of this plant.  She grew if from seeds provided by Mr. Hannibal who stated that the seed parent was C. macowanii.  It is unlike others that came from his C. macowanii crosses.  It multiplies easily but does not set seed.  It has not been named by Marcelle, she refers to it as "Mr. Hannibal's seedling that looks like pale Peach Blow."

The petals are long and delicately curved.  This and other C. macowanii hybrids created by Mr. Hannibal and Marcelle Sheppard show the potential in Crinum hybridizing.  There are many colors, shapes, and sizes of flowers to be discovered as well as ever more garden-worthy plants with sturdy scapes and sun-tolerant blossoms.
