This plant is fragrant and occasionally sets seed.  Flowering-sized bulbs are reportedly hardy to 5 degrees F (-15 C) if provided with good drainage, mulched, and given a sunny location.  This lavender-flowered (or lavender-pink) hybrid was created by Rodger Croker and creates a smaller plant suitable for the front of the garden bed.
